So fast do they grow up and drive away from the nest. I will have four others do the same thing. Good thing I believe in God and my kids or I would be a wreck.
I grew up in a small town and started driving at five years old. We did not even have a stop light in town. They now have one stop light. Oh yes, please do not be alarmed that I drove at five, I had several books to sit on.
Well one cool thing for my first-born is California driver’s licenses are getting a makeover. The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) unveiled the newly designed, more secure California driver licenses and identification cards.
According to the DMV, the new cards will have a different look and feel and have several features to protect them against fraud, tampering and counterfeiting.
The information on the new cards will remain the same, but the layout will be different. For example, people under 21 will have cards with a vertical layout. Also, the card holder’s date of birth and signatures will be able to be felt by touch and there will be images that can be seen only with the use of ultraviolet lights. Plus, there will be a 2D bar code on the back of the card that replicates and verifies only the information on the front of the card and a laser perforation outline of the California Brown Bear, which will only be seen from the front of the card when a flashlight is pressed against the back of the card.
Now I think this is cool, my first-born probably does not care. I am a person who has been driving for 42 years and I like that type of stuff. Did I tell you about the time I was four years old and drove a tractor truck into a ditch. Well that is for another time.
God bless those new drivers!
