An argument between two friends turned into a fight at Helen Keller Park on Monday that resulted in a stabbing between juveniles.
Parks Bureau Deputies were dispatched to Gardena Memorial Hospital Emergency Room at 1:15 P.M. Monday in regards to a juvenile reporting that he had been stabbed at Helen Keller Park in Los Angeles.
The victim a 16-year-old male Black stated that he and another 16-year-old male Black got into an argument which escalated into a wrestling fight. While on the ground the male pulled a small pocket knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim twice in the right leg. The male then fled the area on foot.
The victim’s injuries were not life threatening and he was released that day.
Parents of the male who stabbed the victim, transported the male to South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station at 3:00 P.M. on Monday. The male admitted to the crime and was booked for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was later transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
Sheriffs’ Parks Bureau Detectives are investigating this incident.
