One hiker was reported missing in Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park at 10:15 P.M. Tuesday night.
Friends stopped and notified Metrolink Bureau deputies who were in the area that the hiker had called them on his cell phone and told them he was stuck in the cactus by Cataract Falls in the Park. The hiker a male adult is a resident in Los Angeles.
A deputy obtained his cell phone number and called him. He advised he was close to Raging Waters and needed assistance getting out of the cactus.
Search and Rescue deputies along with the helicopter searched for the hiker for several hours with no success.
On Wednesday at 01:00 A.M. Parks Bureau Detectives contacted a female adult who identified herself as the hiker’s girlfriend. She said she talked to the hiker on his cell phone. He stated he had been stuck, but was able to make it out of the park. She was unaware of his whereabouts and had no information regarding his current location.
Parks Bureau Detectives are following up on the incident.
